== Notes ==

These four items are all from the [[Southern Mountain Range]] and are all made in roughly the same fashion. Follow the guide below to make any of them.

You will want to view the full map of the Southern Mountain Range as reference and in order to move around the area. He's an excerpt with the bits you really need (the bit with the ore, and the town of Edel):

First you need to to get the right ore, see the table below.

From the square, walk 8w, sw, s, 2sw, s, w, se (<code>#8 w;sw;s;sw;sw;s;w;se;s</code>) to get to the room marked "11" on the map. The rooms that have ore in them have hints in the description about 'the glint of metallic rocks' and each of the rooms that cointain ore are marked in green, specifically the group at the top of the map. You have to [[search]] for them. Occasionally there are two in one room, but it's so seldom the case that it's not really worth searching after the first one. All the ores are area repop items, and the usual rules apply.

Now that you've got the ore, you need to go to Edel to have it smelted. If you can't astral Roovin - and if you can, then do so - then it's probably faster to recall and enter the area from the normal entrance and walk that way ( 6s, ne, 2s, se, 2e, s, 2sw, s, 7sw, 5w )(<code>#6 s;ne;s;s;se;e;e;s;sw;sw;s;#7 sw;#5 w</code>) and walk straight to Edel's gate. Otherwise, the dirs from the room marked as "10" on the map are se, e, 2se, 2ne, n, u, sw, u, w, sw, 2w, sw, 3s, 2se, ne, e, sw, s, sw, s, 2se, ne, n, e, 2se, u, se, 3sw, w, 3s, 7sw (<code>se;e;se;se;ne;ne;n;u;sw;u;w;sw;w;w;sw;#3 s;se;se;ne;e;sw;s;sw;s;se;se;ne;n;e;se;se;u;se;#3 sw;w;#3 s;#7 sw</code>) . From the gate, Roovin the smelterer is 2s, e and Bugelii the blacksmith is w, s, w from him.

Give the ore to Roovin. Don't have him working on more than one of the same type, he'll only give one back - the same goes for Bugelii. He'll say to come back in the morning and to bring a certain amount of money (see the table above). After twelve mud hours, he'll produce a bar of the ore you gave to him and take the money from you. The shield is the exception - smelt the tin and the copper, then give the bars back to him to be smelted into bronze. Take the smelted ore to Bugelii and over the course of another long boring period of time (a bit longer than Roovin takes), he'll turn it into your item. Once this time has passed, '''say yes''' and he'll ask you what it was that he was making for you, '''reply silver / gold / iron / bronze'''. He'll give you the item and charge yet more gold.

 * Poro, you may notice all the additional documentation pages that I added. I did this after reading something on wikipedia that basically stated that if you put your documentation directly into your template then you cause a massive overhead everytime that template is used. So moving the documentation to sub templates keeps the template itself lean and causes less overhead for your website. Also, at some point you are going to want into locking down all serious templates and css files to only you being able to edit them, these are mainly the ones that are straight from wikimedia, since you don't want someone altering those. The templates I'm creating would need to eventually be locked down to admins of some sort since modifications could be equally damaging but not on the same scale. I've added a field to the item template called "cats" it should allow you to add additional categories with proper syntax ie: <nowiki>[[category:devout]]</nowiki> or whatever. Something you need to know about the templates, they use a variable called cname for the sort name of the object. Once this is set, it sets a variable called <nowiki>{{DEFAULTSORT}}</nowiki>. This variable changes what the sort phrase is in every category instance so you don't have to do it manually. It's different from a fixed box width. Works pretty slick if you play around with your window size and watch how the boxes resize with it (Try increasing your font several magnitudes to test with). It doesn't like <nowiki><pre></nowiki> tags (ie: Identify pastes), but it doesn't let the text overlap it anymore. As long as you don't use the pre tag. However, there isn't any item with a single line long enough to reach the template on the other side of the page! I did this after reading something on wikipedia that basically stated that if you put your documentation directly into your template then you cause a massive overhead everytime that template is used. So moving the documentation to sub templates keeps the template itself lean and causes less overhead for your website. Also, at some point you are going to want into locking down all serious templates and css files to only you being able to edit them, these are mainly the ones that are straight from wikimedia, since you don't want someone altering those. The templates I'm creating would need to eventually be locked down to admins of some sort since modifications could be equally damaging but not on the same scale. I've added a field to the item template called "cats" it should allow you to add additional categories with proper syntax ie: <nowiki>[[category:devout]]</nowiki> or whatever. Something you need to know about the templates, they use a variable called cname for the sort name of the object. Once this is set, it sets a variable called <nowiki>{{DEFAULTSORT}}</nowiki>. This variable changes what the sort phrase is in every category instance so you don't have to do it manually. Half-Ogres stand roughly upright, range from seven to almost
nine feet in height, and even females generally pack well
over 300 pounds on their immense frames. Most are relatively
hairless. Instead, their bodies are covered with small, boney
growths. Half-Ogres' disproportionately long limbs lend them
a somewhat simian appearance.

As a result of their Ogre heritage, Half-Ogres possess great
physical abilities, including a good aptitude for aggression,
inherent infravision to assist in travel through darkness,
and awesome strength. They also hold some resistance to
piercing attacks. All in all, the race is best suited for
the role of pure fighter.

Half-Ogres may follow the ways of the following classes:

Half-Ogres gain experience on a scale of normal rate * 0.92.

The Half-Ogre Nation lies at the far northwest edge of the
known world within the Northern Plains.

Half-Orcs [Il'khan]

As darker races have encroached further upon the remaining
settled areas, a recent mingling of Orcish and Human blood
has been detected. Most members of this half-blooded race are
distinctly more Orcish than Human in both appearance and
behavior.

Though not as broad nor powerful as full-blood Orcs, Half-
Orcs usually retain their wider bodies, longer, bowed limbs
and heavier musculature. A ridged brow crowned by bushy
eyebrows conceals small, squinting eyes. Below a snout-like
nose opens a maw filled with crooked fangs. Their dark skin
emanates a rancid odor and their presence disgusts civilized
races.

Large and dull of wit, with broad bodies, their poor mental
and physical dexterity is offset by an iron constitution.
Though some have dabbled in the sorcerous arts due to their
Human influence, brute combat is still the natural call,
which stirs in the soul of the Half-Orc. All Half-Orcs have
infravision, and most stand from six and a half to eight feet
tall and average two hundred pounds. They are an altogether
fearsome race.
