is magical and yet, real. It is evil and yet it is not. All around
its perimeter, hundreds of eddies swirl in response to the magnitude
of the central vortex. Within it, you can see nothing. Its force
mid-air dragging everything into an ocean that does not exist.

You'll be dumped onto the bridge head north one at a time to answer questions
* the first question is always what do you seek
* the second question is always something about your character (Gender say Male/Female, Alignment say Devout/Neutral/Evil)
* the third question is from Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail

The old dwarf wonders 'What do you seek?'
You say 'i seek the grail'

The old dwarf wonders 'What do the Knights of the Round eat alot of, besides ham and jam?'
You say 'spam'

The old dwarf wonders 'What must you use to cut down the largest tree in the forest?'
You say 'a herring'

The old dwarf wonders 'What is the air speed velocity of a swallow?'
You say 'african or european'

The old dwarf wonders 'What floats on water besides witches?'
You say 'a duck'

The old dwarf wonders 'What is your favorite color?'
You say 'blue'

The old dwarf wonders 'What is the number of counting?'
You say 'three'

* You'll want invis and hide for [[Madness Maze]] to avoid ravens. The maze changes fast but the directions are: ne, (se or s), w, (u or ne or e), e, sw, scry for coin, go into that room, then nw to corpse, pull corpse. To map, simply spam the directions and then scry for the room with the nw exit, that will be the room you drop a coin in. It'll be easier to just speedwalk up to scrying for the coin <code>ne;s;se;w;u;ne;e;e;sw</code> then scry for coin, go there, then go nw. This is the corpse room. If there is no corpse in the room then "dig" until you find it. You may want to mark this corpse with a fire, in case somebody goes visible (The corpse of a mad raven is in the last stages of decay.) Once you pull corpse mark this room with a spring or something, Madness' room has exits to here then scan all to find Madness. After Madness is dead go into one of the empty exits, if the whole group goes in, you're in the trans room. Sit tight until you see the trans messages. If not, scan for coin rejoin group and go the other way.

* You should be in These Three Lead. Here you have a chance to collect any characters that didn't cross the bridge by using open eternal and draging them through Madness Maze. From here go north into the Wild Wood Land maze and track camelot until you get to The Wild Woodland fades from view... then hop one south and wait for trans

* You're now in Swirling Mists and there should only be one exit (north) prepare here spells and config +AUTOLOOT. Prepare in this room, but note that once you leave it's safe confines that you won't be able to get back in, it's important, because this is the last room that doesn't transfer things on the ground to the Mist Dragon. Mark outside of preparation room (one north), I suggest something besides just a spring 'cause you might want to drop a spring for Vortex, for recall and okay relog. Send out a nephandi to spelldown (kleshas and mental anguish) and then get the group in there. Vortex blinds and uses chill and lightning. The fighters wielding nasrs should rescue each other to spread damage around while the immober has a hayday. Remember the keyword for Vortex is tornado.

*Breaths frost, electric. Gouges frequently. Room mprogs

*Immune to draining attacks and electricity
Noah the Shipwright says 'I have had this idea for a device, which would use the stars and the sun to direct a person around.'
Noah the Shipwright says 'However, it is too intricate of a design for me to create myself.'
Noah the Shipwright gives you a set of astrolabe schematics.
Noah the Shipwright says 'I would bet a blacksmith who lives by the sea may be able to construct it for you.'

Set sail aboard the [[Meridia]] for the Isle of Eurion, there find Erneth.
Erneth says 'These are quite the drawings here.'
Erneth says 'I could probably build this for you, but I would require some special skarn deposits.'
Erneth nods to himself, seemingly happy with his request.
Erneth says 'You would best look for those in the mines around Juargan.'
Erneth exclaims 'Those dwarves sure can dig a mine!'
Erneth says 'Bring me the ore, and I will see what I can do.'
Erneth continues his endless pounding at the anvil.

Head to the [[Kingdom of Juargan]] and dig in the mines for the ore.

You give a rock containing skarn deposits to Erneth.
Erneth looks intently at the skarn deposits, holding it up in the light to eye out the glint.
Erneth says 'I think this will do nicely, yes.'
Erneth says 'I will need some time to work on this. In the meantime I have another task for ya.'
Erneth says 'To complete the astrolabe, I will need a sea captain's dial.'
Erneth says 'I don't think I would have to tell you where to find one of those.'
Erneth grins as he begins working on the ore.
Erneth says 'I would try a sea captain.'
Erneth focuses his attention away to the task at hand.

At this point, I headed to Ocean Keep and checked out Captain Lodd. Even though there was no indication that he might have a dial, I decided to kill him anyways (can always use more [[a jade cameo|jade cameo]]s). Sure enough, he popped a dial.

Captain Lodd is DEAD!!
Captain Lodd wheezes 'The king will hear of this. My death will be avenged.'
He mutters his last words, something in an unknown tongue.
You feel the temperature in the room rising rapidly, quickly
becoming intolerable. Suddenly, the heat concentrates in one
spot and then rushes into your body, causing horrible pain.
You scream in agony as the fire burns you from the inside.
ARRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!
(a pair of scorpion carapace gloves gets damaged)
That really did HURT!
Captain Lodd splatters blood on your armor.
You get 581176 gold coins from the corpse of Captain Lodd.
The corpse of Captain Lodd holds:
(Glowing) a sword with the king's crest
[[a sea captain's dial]]

Return to Erneth in Eurion.

Erneth looks up at you, smiling.
Erneth asks you, 'Did you find the dial?'

You give a sea captain's dial to Erneth.
Erneth smiles at the sight of the sea captain's dial.
Erneth says 'This is most excellent. It will work perfectly.'
Erneth says 'Where did you get it? Actually I'd rather not know.'
Erneth says 'I will get to work finishing off your astrolabe, it will still take a bit of time.'
Erneth says 'Why don't you come back tomorrow, and I will have it finished for you.'
Erneth bows his head slightly then hurriedly returns to his work.

After some time your astrolabe will be ready. Return to pick it up, but, oh no!

Erneth looks down at his hands, unable to meet your gaze.
Erneth says 'I am so sorry.'
Erneth says 'I had just finished your astrolabe, when someone entered my hut.'
Erneth exclaims 'I tried to tell him I was closed, but he just demanded the astrolabe, he knew all about it!'
Erneth says 'He pulled his sword on me and threatened my life.'
Erneth sighs to himself.
Erneth says 'If you find him I'm sure you will be able to get it back.'
Erneth says 'He mentioned an Island he hides out on, called Stormpoint.'
Erneth looks up, finally meeting your eyes.
Erneth says 'I have never heard of it myself.'
Erneth says 'However, I'm sure if you mention the name of the island to a ship's captain, you might be able to get a ride out to it.'
Erneth nods to himself, feeling better about the ordeal.
Erneth says 'Good luck my friend. If you get it back you should show it to Noah, I'm sure he would like to see it.'

Travel to Raven Tor and talk to Captain Henry.

You say 'stormpoint'
Captain Henry whistles to himself.
Captain Henry says 'So you be wanting to get out to Stormpoint Island, do ya.'
Captain Henry says 'That be a hard journey my friend, and my ship has seen its share of hard journeys already.'
Captain Henry rubs his chin, contemplating the situation.
Captain Henry says 'I tell ye what. You give me 5 hundred thou in coins upfront, and I can get ye there.'

You give 500,000 coins to Captain Henry.
Captain Henry smiles at the money in his hands.
Captain Henry says 'Oh this be excellent, I can be repairing a few things I have been procrastinatin' on.'
Captain Henry says 'Right this way please, we will be leaving port immediately.'
Captain Henry yells 'Ahoy, scurvy dogs! Unfurl the mains'l! Avast there, filthy sons of goats!'
Head north and steal the key from the sleeping pirate. Spellup and unlock the door to the east. Enter and fight Crookeye.

This is a nasty fight, with a few surprises.

Crookeye the Pirate is DEAD!!
Crookeye finally falls to the ground, dead, still clutching the astrolabe
that he was trying to protect. You spot the astrolabe on his lifeless
corpse, and you hold it up in the air for a moment, admiring it.
You also remember Noah the Shipwright telling you that he can teach you
how to use this interesting tool.
Crookeye the Pirate's eye is gouged from its socket.
You get 26377 gold coins from the corpse of Crookeye the Pirate.
The corpse of Crookeye the Pirate holds:
Noah the Shipwright sits down and thinks deeply.
Noah the Shipwright says 'Lemme show you how to use that thing.'
Noah the Shipwright says 'Just say "train me" when you are ready.'

To begin, talk to Noah in Camden, in the [[Wastelands]].

Noah the Shipwright looks up from his work as you enter, a thin smile creeping over his weathered face.
Noah the Shipwright says 'Hello there Playername, it is nice to see another such as myself, so in love with the sea.'
Noah the Shipwright exclaims 'Have I told you yet, of mah idea? It would change our craft for ever, I'm sure of it!'
Noah the Shipwright wonders 'I would need help though, would you be willing to help me?'
Noah the Shipwright says 'Nod at me if so.'

You nod in agreement to him.
Noah the Shipwright's face breaks into an enormous, toothy grin.
Noah the Shipwright exclaims 'That is most excellent!'
Noah the Shipwright says 'I have had this idea for a device, which would use the stars and the sun to direct a person around.'
Noah the Shipwright says 'However, it is too intricate of a design for me to create myself.'
Noah the Shipwright says 'I have, however, made these schematics of it.'
Noah the Shipwright takes a piece of paper out from his pocket, and waves them about with his grubby hands.
Noah the Shipwright says 'If you would be willing to find someone to build it for me, I would gladly teach you how to use it.'
Noah the Shipwright asks you, 'Will you help me?'
Noah the Shipwright looks up at you, expectantly.

You say 'I will help you'
Noah the Shipwright nods his head in excitement.
Noah the Shipwright says 'Wonderful. Here are the plans.'

Erneth stops pounding on the anvil momentarily.
Erneth wonders 'Were you the one interested in the astrolabe?'
Erneth says 'All I need to see are the astrolabe schematics...'

You give a set of astrolabe schematics to Erneth.
Erneth says 'Well, isn't this interestin'.'
Erneth takes the set of astrolabe schematics into his hands, and looks them over.

The dark form of Danbala Wedo lies stretched out before you. His long
body is coiled in the shadows so it is hard to tell how large he is. Rising
from the pile of dark scales is a large head, hooded and slowly weaving
back and forth in the silence. Lighter colored scales form strange patterns
up the underside of Danbala's neck, then slowly turn darker again. His
eyes glitter with ancient knowledge of the gods. Venom drips off two
large fangs as he opens his mouth to hiss at you for intruding in his
chamber.
Don't [[disarm]] or [[rescue]]! Danbala has several nasty progs for when you do this, so don't. Set your [[wimpy]], around 800. Make sure you [[create spring|create a spring]] as soon as you get into the room. You may wish to bring a fifth warrior, even though Danny's room is only [[tunnel|tunneled]] to five (minus the mob himself, of course, which means four players can get in), just to act as a backup and hopefully make the run a little easier. Be careful though, because the room outside his one is [[tunnel|tunneled]] to two, so if two people are idling there then the rest are trapped. Don't log off or disappear into the void, or you'll be sent right back to the entrance of the area. You also need about 1000 [[heal|heals]] to take on Danbala (assuming you're going to kill him a few times, of course).

Avoid using empty head containers from the [[Northern Trade Route]]; Danbala has been found to heal himself significantly when someone quaffs heals from such container.
== Zistrosk's Danbala Run Notes ==
(updated 31Aug2013)

Stuff to have to prepare:
# As many warriors as you can tote that have 1600+ hp and good resists (plate of ravager, etc)
# At least three tanksets per character brought along
# Plenty of Staff of Barad-Dur (fireshield), Jade Cameo (iceshield), and Sorcerer's Walking Stick (shockshield).
# At least one extra cleric and mage for spelling up, brandishing, etc.
# 5+ hours of time (1-2 hours to trans & get up there, 40 minutes per repop)
# Any extra AV characters you have to carry spare heals, tanksets, staffs, etc.
# If you have Zmud, see the bottom of these instructions for handy settings for the Danbala run
--NOTE: Barbarians are good hitters as well, and should dual-wield justices. Too much lag for rend.
Warriors will need to style up to standard as Barbarians cannot style below that.

Walkthrough for the run:

1. Go to LaChute
from dh square: #6 n;#6 e;se;e;ne;ne;e;nw;n;n;ne;ne;w;nw;nw;e;n;n;ne;n;ne;w;w

2. Chop Through The Briars (need 20 STR or more to proceed)
chop;se;chop;sw;chop;w;chop;w;chop;s;chop;sw;chop;w;chop;nw;chop;w;chop;w;chop;nw;ne
Dirs without chop commands: SE SW W W S SW W NW W W NW NE
Last room is "Piercing Shafts of Light in the Darkness"

3. Get to the room before the fire demons
n,n,ne,u,e,ne,e,u,u,u, spell up in room "Clinging to the Side" to kill demons

4. Kill some demons, and then enter the fire maze
w,u,u,n,u,u, room "A Glimpse of the Peak" - glowing mirage healer mob, individually follow the tunneled path north (n;nw;u;u;u;u;u;ne;u) and regroup at "Before the Doors of the Oufo", then n,e,n,n,w,w,type window at "Before a Stained-Glass Window" and you're in the fire maze

5. Map the Fire Maze: "Floating in Fire"
When you enter the maze have everyone sit except the one that's mapping the maze. There are four exits from that room, N, S, E and W. Three of these rooms are magic, and one is not. Pick a character that can track, and make springs/fires to map it. Have them pick a direction, and try to make a spring or fire there. Track back to sitters. Repeat until you find which of the four exits is the nonmagic room. Move one (or all) sitting character(s) into the nonmagic room. From the nonmagic room, there are 2 magic and 2 nonmagic rooms, so repeat the spring creation and tracking back until you've marked both magic rooms, only mark them differently (like two springs in one and two fires in another or whatever). One of these two magic rooms is the trans room out of the maze. There are several ways to figure out which room it is. You can place characters in them, and wait to see which one transes. You can SCAN ALL, and one room will repeatedly show over and over in one direction, and another will be a bunch of empty rooms and maybe a repeat of your markings after a couple rooms - it is this second room that is the trans room (the inconsistent one). The third way is to log off a character in each room, and the room that transes you back to the beginning of the area on log out is the trans room - and since you have sitting characters still near there it's easy enough to get back to where you were. So to sum it up:

5a. Find nonmag room, go there. (This an excellent time to check your aquabreath on all characters!!)

5b. Find magic rooms, figure out which of the two of them is the trans room.

5c. Spend the next 20-45 minutes transing through.

6. Transing through the maze.

6a. If you are using the zmud settings below and cannot cast aqua breath on yourself, put a a tablet of effervescence in your inventory just in case

6b. You will see various trans messages while you're waiting to complete your trans through the fire maze, Tunnels of Darkness, and Escape From the Tunnels. Here are the messages you will see:
A blinding flame surrounds you, scorching your armor and pulling you into a black void...
You are momentarily encased in a column of blinding light.
A cloud of energy waves surrounds you suddenly, drawing you deeper into the mountain...
--When you see this last trans message, you'll be in "A Watery Channel" and will have trans'd out of the maze and tunnels. I recommend using a trigger, if you have
zMud, to automatically keep from drowning

6c. Once you've transed through to "A Watery Channel" make sure you enter the following commands:
u,u,say place my feet on the ground again

7. On to "A Final Ascent"
ne,e, open drain at "A Dripping Fissure",e,spell up for some more killing!

8. Switch to Magic Weapons, Kill Oya, Oshun, Obatala, Eleggua, get key from Eleggua, say I am ready now to face danbala
First Switch to Magic Weapons, they are necessary to hit Oshun. Nonmag will hit Oya, Obatala, and Eleggua fine.
u,kill Oya (Aggro, easy kill - 3 rounds or less with full group)
e,kill Oshun (Aggro, little harder, gasses, 4-5 rounds with full group, suscept to Virtue)
ne,kill Obatala (Aggro, little harder, gasses, spells self up with shockshield, 5-6 rounds with full group, Virtue hits)
U,u,u,kill Eleggua (Aggro, hardest of the four, 6-7 rounds with full group)
MAKE SURE YOU GET THE BLUE CRYSTAL KEY FROM ELEGGUA!! -- you'll need this later.
to move on, say I am ready now to face danbala

8a. Note - If you are returning, and don't have a large group to kill the four, you can flee past them. When you get past Obatala, you can rest and heal before going up to Eleggua. Once in Eleggua's room, there is no need to kill her as long as someone has already gotten the key, just "say I am ready now to face danbala" and you'll be transed to the next room in midfight. Fleeing past might take a few tries, since there are other rooms to flee into, but is effective as long as you're spelled up. It might be just as easy to go ahead and forgo this fight, and if you have zMud, trigger all of your characters with :
<nowiki>#trigger {An Eerie Blue Glow} {say I am ready now to face danbala} "lachute"</nowiki>

<nowiki>(to disable this class, type #t- lachute, and to enable it type #t+ lachute)</nowiki>

9. Set up camp in room named "Still on the Pathway"
n,u,rest

9a. Fly is not required to remain in this room, though the room descrip leads one to believe that it is

9b. Alts should rest to wait shields out here

9c. Do not log out here, just go linkdead with alts, or else you will be trans'd back to the start of the area

9d. Do not void (be linkdead for 10 minutes or more) because when you come out of the void you'll be back at the beginning of the area

10. Spell up for the kill

10a. Everyone follow an alt that is going to be linkdead for the kill. Do not follow a char that will participate in the kill, so that there are no accidental movements by any tank character.

10b. All eligible tank characters that MIGHT be used for the kill should spell up. If one of your tank chars dies, log them out, and then reconnect on another and join the fight -- with spells already on you, you can just run in and beat on him and not endanger the other tanks by taking a long time to quaff tanksets.

10c. Someone make a mystical spring, everyone drink at least once

10d. Everyone that is spelling up should quaff a dispel magic - all spells should be fresh

10e. Each tank character quaffs a tankset. If you have zmud, here's a handy alias you can use which allows you to quaff a full tankset from whichever container you have. The command is qtank, and to use it just follow it with the name of the container that has the potions in it. For example, if you have a tankset in a rune covered bag, type : qtank rune

10f. Have a cleric cast acid ward, holy sanctity, minor invocation, brandish a staff of barad-dur (fireshield), brandish a jade cameo (iceshield), brandish a sorceror's walking stick (shockshield)

10g. Have a mage cast prismatic shield on each tank.

10h. Right before linkdeading alts, have a cleric cast indignation (fury of the high gods)
--NOTE: if using the zmud settings below, type "ltimer" to start the linkdead timer as you linkdead the alts.
You can also use "ctimer" to cancel the linkdead timer if necessary (the next timer will fire, but none after).
10i. Everyone linkdead but the 3 or 4 tanks to make the kill.

11. Kick Danbala's medieval arse

11a. Go north from where all the alts are linkdead. MAKE SURE YOU ARE IP1!

11b. Check Fly! Don't fall into the DT, have FLY ON!!

11c. Whomever has the blue key, unlock gate, open gate, drop key

11d. Style Evasive (all Standard if barbarians are present)

11e. Wimpy 800

11f. config -autosac

11g. config -autoloot

11h. First to go in gets two spring potions, goes 2 east, quaff spring

11i. Everone verify over grouptalk that they're ready!

11j. First one in grouptalks GO! and then goes NE and quaff spring, starts fight

11k. Everyone else rushes in, 2e, ne, joins fight

12. As the fight progresses...

12a. Quaff 8 heals, drink spring, repeat, as fast as you can.

12b. If you autoflee out, quaff up to full as fast as you can, reenter battle. DO NOT HOG this room or others cannot flee, and they will die because of you!!

12c. At "Nasty Wounds" you can style up to Standard

12d. At "DYING" you can style up again

12e. You'll typically use between 120 and 180 heals per kill.

13. After the fight is over...

13a. Someone has to loot, and then everyone should get out of Danbala's lair right away. Danbala will pop some, or all, of the following items: "ring of the ancient gods", "essence of kundalini", "Snake's eye", and/or an extremely rare pop called "the ancient sight of the snake".

13b. Reconnect alts

13c. Clerics fortify or heal to save heal potions and bring tanks back up to full.

13d. Sit and wait for spells to run out for next fight, or quaff dispels / use amulets of dispersal

13e. Repair at least every 3 or 4 kills to keep from scrapping eq.

14. Repairs, if available are:

14a. At room "A Mysterious Gate" (n of prep room) go:
open skulls;n;d;se;e;remove all;repair all;wear all;say back to danbala
14b. When you say "back to danbala" it returns you to "A Mysterious Gate"

15. Recall afterwards

15a. Log out and reconnect and you'll be in the hedge maze

15b. Go sw from that room and you can recall.

Matinah says 'I can't remember what all he had, but I'm sure Patch would know. He's the barkeep in Thul. If you're wanting the Falcon's services, he'd also be a good one to contact.'
Matinah takes a quill and writes something down on a dirty piece of parchment.
Matinah says 'Here, take this so Patch knows we were talking. He may open up a bit more to you if he knows I sent you.'
Matinah gives you a note from Matinah.
Matinah exclaims 'Good luck friend. And be sure to come back and buy me another drink!'

Go to Patch the bartender in Thul Abhara.

You say 'Matinah'
Patch the bartender wonders 'Matinah sent you eh? Have any proof?'

You give a note from Matinah to Patch the bartender.
Patch the bartender says 'Ah, a friend of Matinah's is always welcome here.'
Patch the bartender whispers to you 'It's unwise to discuss the Falcon's name in open though, so I'd appreciate it if you'd
keep your voice down.'
Patch the bartender grins as if his thoughts are mischievous.
Patch the bartender whispers to you 'To be honest, though, I've not seen the Falcon in quite some time. I have a feeling he
may have met an untimely demise though.'

You say 'demise'
Patch the bartender motions you to come forward.
Patch the bartender whispers to you 'Yes, he could be dead for all I know. I haven't seen him, or his handiwork, for quite a
while. There's also rumours that his gear has been in circulation amongst the traders.'
Patch the bartender looks around to see if anyone is watching.
Patch the bartender whispers to you 'I can't help you find the man, if its his services you're needing, but I can direct you
towards someone who may have a bead on where his eq is these days.'
Patch the bartender coughs loudly.
Patch the bartender whispers to you 'Friend or not, that kind of information don't come cheap though... it'll cost you 5
million coins.'

You give 5,000,000 coins to Patch the bartender.
Patch the bartender smiles happily.
Patch the bartender says 'Pleasure doing business with you.'
Patch the bartender whispers to you 'Now, I don't know who was selling the equipment personally, but I do know that the
GuildMistress of one of the Thieves Guilds had a hand in purchasing one of the items.'
Patch the bartender looks around for anyone listening in on his conversation.
Patch the bartender whispers to you 'She had a rather enormous contract out on the Falcon's head after he refused to work for
her. In addition to the death contract she offered substantial rewards for the his equipment, which she knew quite well.'
Patch the bartender says 'Be wary of dealing with that one...'
Patch the bartender coughs realizing he spoke this last phrase out loud and begins to polishing the bar.

Go to Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport in Shadowport.

Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport stops what she is doing as you enter and nods in your direction.
Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport says 'Welcome, Playername, my spies have told me you've been looking for me.
I think I know why you're here, but in case I'm mistaken, how may I help you?'

You say 'Falcon'
Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport nods solemnly.
Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport says 'Yes, I heard you were inquiring about the Falcon. You have probably
also heard I dislike the fellow. Nothing could be further from the truth though, as I have a great deal of respect for his
skills.'

Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport says 'That said, I am a businesswoman, and he broke a contract we had
together to do a job, saying it "contravened his ethics". A thief with morals is a danger to us all. My contract on his head
was simply a means to ensure others do not follow his ways.'
Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport chuckles politely.
Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport says 'It's bad for business.'

Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport says 'And speaking of business. Do you wish to do business with me? If I
feel you are worthy of the information, I wouldn't be opposed to hiring you for some odd jobs. You would have to prove your
worth to me of course.'
Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport looks at you.
Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport says 'Your equipment appears to be moderately useful, though if it is an
indication of your skill, you may not do well in the task I need you to complete.'

You say 'task'
Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport says 'It's more of a job than a task I guess.'

You say 'job'
Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport says 'Excellent, Playername. I am glad you are interested.'
Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport grins.

Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport says 'Our Guild has been hired to procure a certain letter from the Lady of
Dragon Pass. It appears as though our employer has found out this letter is worth quite a bit of money to the lady of the
Keep and he wishes to blackmail her for its return.'
Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport chuckles politely.

Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport says 'Your task is quite simple, for someone of your calibre. Steal this
letter without the Lady knowing and return it to me. Beware, however, you are not to read the contents of the letter or our
deal is off.'

Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport suddenly stands up quite straight and tell, to drive home her final point.
Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport says 'I promised our employer that the letter would remain unread, and so
it shall be. I am giving you this opportunity to prove yourself. Ensure you do not mess it up.'
Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport grins.

Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport says 'Good luck, and God Speed.'

Go to Lady Kherrian in Dragon's Pass
* Zmud Directions : <code>#6 s;ne;s;s;se;e;e;s;sw;sw;s;#5 sw;nw;#5 n;ne;n;e;se;se;n;ne;e;ne;nw;w;nw;n;n;n;e;e;n;e;u;s;s;w;u;n</code>

After stealing the letter from Lady Kherrian in Dragon Pass, return to the Guildmistress and give the letter to her.<br>

You give a note from Lord Kherrian to Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport.
Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport says 'Excellent, and apparently the magical bonds of the note are intact.
I can see you have not read it. Very good. You follow directions well.'

Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport smiles happily.

Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport says 'We pay well here, and information can often be priceless, so I will
give you some.'

Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport whispers to you 'Should you be interested in a few of the pieces of the
Falcon's famed equipment, I will tell you these clues...'

Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport looks around to see who if anyone is watching.

Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport whispers to you 'Find the one who sits and waits to be set free to sail
again. When you find him, say to him, "Deliess Whurgirn has sent me to free you" and when he asks your price, say to him
that you want information on the falcon equipment.'

Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport whispers to you 'A friend who provides me with poison powder is in need
of hand. She was also the benefactor of the Falcon's good will. Seek her out and see if she will be interested
in trading services. Your blade, for her equipment.'

Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport whispers to you 'The mouse in grey stalks the shadows, anticipating his
prey. Beware his poisonous bite my friend for it will do you in. The rumour is he wears the falcon's boots, feel free to
keep them once he's dead.'

Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport draws in closer, and you can feel her breath upon your neck as she whispers in your ear.
Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport whispers to you 'The rumours are true and I do have a piece of the
Falcon's equipment. When you have found the previous three, find me out again and we shall talk about it.'

Deliess Whurgirn, the Guildmistress of Shadowport says 'Good luck and may your Gods grant you favour in these tasks.'
You say 'equipment'
Jaxron the Red says 'Oh, aye... I know that set well. I had come across a piece... some real nice shoulder wear...
a while back. I had a bugger of a time trying to find someone to sell it to. They were just too
well known and folks were afraid the Falcon would try to come collecting.
Jaxron the Red sighs loudly.
Jaxron the Red says 'if you were to unlock me, I'd tell you who bought it...'

>unlock jaxron
Jaxron the Red exclaims 'Ahh, freedom at last! Duke Luther will pay dearly for locking me up!'
Jaxron the Red throws back his head and cackles with insane glee!
Jaxron the Red whispers to you 'Before I'm off, ye need to find a tall norseman in the market place of Ocean Keep. He was the only seller I could find for that item of Falcon equipment.'
Jaxron the Red says 'And now, if you'll excuse, I have pirating to do.'
Jaxron the Red bows deeply.
Leif thinks, 'Hmmmm.'
Leif says 'I am having issues placing a value on it to be honest. I have been debating taking trade for it. If you can bring me a strand of polished jade, a jade cameo, and a
gleaming-jade gemstone, I'll give you the Falcon's armwear.'
Leif smiles happily.
Leif says 'Jade is the official stone of my hometown and I never have any problems getting gold for it.'

You give a strand of polished jade to Leif.
Maera the Potion-maker coughs loudly.
Maera the Potion-maker whispers to you 'I've been after Deliess to clean things up for a while. I guess she figures you're up for it. It'll be a messy job destroying those mind flayers, but I
figure if you kill 10 of them, along with their leader, that'll quiet things up a bit.'
Maera the Potion-maker looks around to see if anyone is listening.
Maera the Potion-maker says 'Just say your price and we'll shake on it if we can come to an agreement.'
Maera the Potion-maker whispers to you 'I do have a rather interesting piece of equipment from someone you may well know... The Falcon. If you do this job for me and clear out 10 of those mind
flayers, along with their leader, it's a deal!'
Maera the Potion-maker spits on her hand and grabs yours, shaking it vigorously.

This is a detailed walkthrough of the [[Warrior]] eq quest Solace's Plight. To begin this quest, you must be a warrior and have completed the first portion of the fighter eq set quest, [[The Dragonlord's Battle Armor]].

To begin, visit [[Garth Obsilar]] in [[Knights of the Round]]

Garth Obsilar says to you, 'Greetings, warrior.'
Garth Obsilar says to you, 'Got some work for you here, if you feel up to it.'
Garth Obsilar says to you, 'Ask me about Solace when you want to hear more.'
You say 'solace'
Garth Obsilar nods in agreement with you.
Garth Obsilar says to you, 'The great Captain Mandor of Solace is a friend of mine.'
Garth Obsilar says to you, 'His town is facing a disturbing threat as of late.'
Garth Obsilar says to you, 'I am not at liberty to discuss it further.'
Garth Obsilar says to you, 'Seek him out, Playername, and tell him that Garth sent you.'
Garth Obsilar says to you, 'Then your mission will become clearer.'

Travel to Solace and speak with Captain Mandor.

You say 'Garth sent me'
Captain Mandor nods quickly to himself and looks you over, examining your gear.
Captain Mandor says 'Hmmmm, yes. You may just do.'
Captain Mandor says 'It would seem as though we are experiencing some difficulties in the form of a dragon.'
Captain Mandor stares off absently at the portrait of himself.
Captain Mandor says 'Usually we would not seek outside help, but this particular dragon has made quick work of a large portion of our townguard.'
Captain Mandor says 'If you are interested in helping me with this task I can make it worth your while.'
You give a black dragon claw to Captain Mandor.
Captain Mandor holds the black twitching claw in his hands for a moment,
before depositing it in the wastebin beneath his desk.
Captain Mandor says 'So you're not dead. That is good.'
Captain Mandor says 'You might just be of use to me after all.'
Captain Mandor says 'Let me know when you are ready for your next task.'

You say 'next task'
Captain Mandor nods at you and motions to the door.

Head to the Northern Plains and begin scanning for "The faint outline of a large footprint can be spotted on the ground."
Once you find it, make a spring and spellup because you're about to fight a dragonspawn (stunnable).
Be patient and soon you will see...

Suddenly, you spot a winged beast flying down from the sky.
The beast doesn't appear to be large enough to make this footprint,
but before you can figure out anything further, the beast lunges in
your direction, its claws tearing at you.

The corpse of A black dragonspawn holds:
scale of the black dragonspawn
dragonspawn gauntlets

Take the scale from the corpse of a black dragonspawn to Captain Mandor.

You give scale of the black dragonspawn to Captain Mandor.
Captain Mandor stares at the dragonspawn scale intently before placing it on his desk.
Captain Mandor says 'This is most unusual. Something is very wrong with this.'
Captain Mandor says 'I have not seen scales in this pattern before. We might be dealing with something entirely new.'
Captain Mandor brings his hand to his chin and lets out a large 'Hmmmmmmmmm'...
Captain Mandor says 'I think we will need another opinion on this.'
Captain Mandor says 'Go and see Magnus, the wizard. He might know more on this than I.'
Captain Mandor reaches down and picks the dragonspawn scale up from the desk and hands it to you.
Captain Mandor gives you scale of the black dragonspawn.

Take the scale to Magnus, who is upstairs in one of the rooms in the inn in the northern part of solace.

You give scale of the black dragonspawn to Magnus wizard.
Magnus the wizard grabs the dragonspawn scale and holds it up to the light.
Magnus wizard wonders 'Hmmmmm.....Interesting this is. The Captain sent you with this did he?'
Magnus the wizard reaches into his robes and pulls out a glass lens and looks upon the scale with it.
Magnus wizard says 'Yes this is very strange. I can see why he is concerned. This looks oddly similiar to a dragon we ran into many years ago.'
Magnus wizard says 'Its name was Tuzzirath. It was quite a fearsome dragon indeed, and it took a large amount of men to deal with it.'
Magnus wizard says 'It has been so long however, I can not be sure.'
Magnus the wizard's eyes look up into yours, a look of fear clearly evident.
Magnus wizard says 'We need to be sure. If Tuzzirath has returned we must stop it immediately.'
Magnus wizard says 'Please take this to my friend Rhirawen.'
Magnus wizard says 'She travels in and out of the dark city of Salburg, selling her magical wares.'
Magnus wizard says 'If anyone would be sure of this scale, it would be her.'
Magnus wizard gives you scale of the black dragonspawn.

Travel to Salburg and LOGOFF THE CHARACTER WITH THE SCALE. It has a rot timer, and you're going to be waiting a while for Rhirawen. Setup a character in Salburg to watch for her to appear, she appears in the room "In the Market Square of Salburg"

You give scale of the black dragonspawn to Rhirawen, the wandering gypsy trader.
Rhirawen, the wandering gypsy trader looks down at the hide, a look of shock creeping upon her face.
Rhirawen, the wandering gypsy trader wonders 'Could it be... Tuzzirath?'
Rhirawen, the wandering gypsy trader wonders 'Where did you get this? Who sent you?'

You say 'Magnus'
Rhirawen, the wandering gypsy trader nods solemnly to herself.
Rhirawen, the wandering gypsy trader says 'I have not seen these scales in a long, long time.'
Rhirawen, the wandering gypsy trader says 'It seems like a lifetime ago, a much happier time for me.'
Rhirawen, the wandering gypsy trader lets out a small sigh, bringing forth ancient memories.
Rhirawen, the wandering gypsy trader says 'This is the hide of the great and powerful dragon, Tuzzirath.'
Rhirawen, the wandering gypsy trader says 'Please go and tell Magnus that.'
Rhirawen, the wandering gypsy trader says 'Something must be done quickly to stop Tuzzirath.'

Return to magnus in solace.

Magnus wizard wonders 'Did you find Rhirawen, Playername?'
Magnus wizard wonders 'Did she tell you which dragon that scale must have come from?'

You say 'Tuzzirath'
Magnus the wizard collapses onto the bed behind him, looking dazed.
Magnus wizard says 'Then it is as I feared, it is.'
Magnus wizard says 'The great and terrible Tuzzirath has returned.'
Magnus the wizard looks down into his hands for a moment, then springs to life, leaping from the bed.
Magnus wizard exclaims 'Well then we must do something now to stop him!'
Magnus wizard says 'But what? We wouldn't dare go and try to fight it in its own home, that would for sure end poorly.'
Magnus the wizard nods to himself.
Magnus wizard exclaims 'Yes well then we will have to lure it to us!'
Magnus wizard says 'Go and see Lord Doom, he also happens to be staying at the inn, thankfully.'
Magnus wizard says 'He has had previous experience with luring dragons, he has.'
Magnus the wizard rubs his chin briefly, thinking.
Magnus wizard says 'Ask him how to lure a dragon.'

Find Lord Doom in the inn.

Lord Doom's face breaks out into a hideous smirk.
Lord Doom nods in your direction.
Lord Doom says 'So you need to find a dragon, eh.'
Lord Doom says 'Well I seem to recall a certain extract from the dragonsberries in Moria that worked quite well to detect dragons.'
Lord Doom says 'These dragonsberries are usually well hidden.'
Lord Doom says 'If you could bring me four dragonsberries, I could probably procure some extract and help you find the dragon.'
Lord Doom points towards the door.
Lord Doom says 'Moria is that way, now leave me be.'

Go to Moria and search in the rooms named "The blackened hills of Moria", return to Lord Doom in Solace after finding 4 draonsberries

Lord Doom says 'I see you have the dragonsberries, Playername. Give me four of them and we can proceed.'

You give a dragonsberry to Lord Doom.
Lord Doom says to you, 'Great, that's 1 dragonsberry...'

You give a dragonsberry to Lord Doom.
Lord Doom says to you, 'Great, that's 2 dragonsberries...'

You give a dragonsberry to Lord Doom.
Lord Doom says to you, 'Great, that's 3 dragonsberries...'

You give a dragonsberry to Lord Doom.
Lord Doom says to you, 'Great, that's 4 dragonsberries...'
Lord Doom nods solemnly.
Lord Doom says 'While you were gone, I already used a vial I had made, and will use these to replace it.'
Lord Doom reaches under his crystal plate armor and produces a small vial of dragonscent.
Lord Doom says 'The dragonscent allowed me to track the location of Tuzzirath's lair.'
Lord Doom says 'It is not far from here, on a well-hidden path away from one of the town's streets.'
Lord Doom applies a little bit of the vial of dragonscent to your armor.
Lord Doom says 'Hopefully this will allow you to actually enter Tuzzirath's lair.'
Lord Doom points towards the door.
Lord Doom says 'Our deal is done so begone.'

Find the entrance to Tuzzirath's lair. It is a hidden northwest exit at the end of west gullen way. Fall through the hole, find and pull the chain, then find and fight Tuzzirath.

The great beast falls to the ground, no longer moving.
You leave a little of the beast's blood on your weapon to show to Mandor.
This will prove to him that you've completed his task.
You also notice a piece of armor among the scattered supplies in the den,
which you pick up and take with you. As you do, you are whisked away from
the den, and are now ready to report to Mandor.
You see no corpse here.
You do not see that here.

You get trans'd to entrance to solace on kb. Return to Mandor.

Captain Mandor listens as you relate your tale to him.
Captain Mandor bows stiffly in your direction.
Captain Mandor says 'Warrior, on behalf of the entire town of Solace and the surrounding countryside, I thank thee.'
Captain Mandor says 'Your actions here have proven your mettle and might as a true guardian.'
Captain Mandor says 'As your reward, I shall spend some personal time training with you.'
Captain Mandor says 'I think you will find my skills useful in your future endeavours.'
Captain Mandor says 'When you are ready, say "train me".'

You say 'train me'
Captain Mandor assumes a combat stance, and you begin to mirror his movements.
Captain Mandor says to you:
Across the land, true warriors are revered for their combat prowess.
This can become a boon to you in certain situations. If you can successfully
intimidate an opponent, you and your fellow adventurers stand a greater chance
of dealing damage in the ensuing combat. The more charismatic you are,
the longer your victim will be swayed by your threatening tactics.
Captain Mandor shows you some tactics to use, and then your training concludes.
Captain Mandor says 'Once again, Playername... thank you.'
Captain Mandor demonstrates intimidate to you. You feel more learned in this subject.
