As the oceans rose and flooded the land during the Shattering,
part of the landmass drifted south. The sea currents pushed
the land closer to the Tip of the World. As the water around
the landmass froze, the drifting stopped.

Lost to the world as a whole, Otherland has become a frozen
waste where the task of daily survival consumes almost all
activity. None live here in comfort. They listen to the rumble
of their empty stomachs and pray they do not end the day
lining the stomach of another. The natives eke out a rough
life. Those unfamiliar with the land are guaranteed to tread a
difficult path.

As light began to fill the world that became the Realms, one of the divine beings controlling it turned its eyes away and hid from it. '''Gre'Vos''' found pleasure in the darkness and began to slowly find a way to bring it back. Her plot to plunge the world back into the darkness it came from was destroyed by Z'hyal though. She was forced to share the skies with him and the orb of fire he created. Gre'Vos began to take pieces of the earth and put them in the skies, where they glowed brightly, to her delight. She joined forces with Tirebaen, who required her darkness to help him take over the lands with ice and snow. Gre'Vos has been seen by her followers as the face in the moon, smiling down through the darkness she creates.

Vampires are loved as kin by Gre'Vos and should not be harmed by her followers. Only the evil and neutral can gain the favor of this fickle god who has little caring for most of the actions that are used to gain favor. The killing of many and sacrificing their remains in her name is the only sure way to win her love. Gre'vos detests humans and will not allow them to worship her.
