'''Bael''' is one of [[Vl'aresch]]'s strongest companions. Born from the blood of [[Vl'aresch]]'s deadliest battle with [[A'enari]], he is a shadowy figure which roams the earth, reveling in the evil about him. His love for blood and death is legendary. Mortals who see him bring back varied stories, ranging from a tall figure with eyes the color of the blood he so loves who spends his time tormenting those around him to a burning flame which ravages the land he passes over. Bael is brought forth only by the strongest and most evil of souls, for they are the only ones who can survive his presence.

Bael only accepts those of evil heart, through and through, others will never gain his affection. All manners of death are acceptable to him: magical, thieving and purely physical. He favors those that desecrate the resting places of others, as well as those that sacrifice in his name. Bael reveres above all else the killing of gods as he feels he should be the only one. Only those of the [[Drow]], [[Gith]], or [[Lizardman]] races who are [[Vampire]]s, [[Nephandi]], [[Cleric]] or [[Warrior]]s are accepted by this dark god.

Long ago, a necromantic clan of shadowy practitioners and their legions of
umbral sentinels ruled the deadly realm. These notoriously foul beings were
well known to their enemies as the Shadowcult. They stalked their prey from
the dark, always watching and waiting for the most opportune times to strike
with their foul magicks and elite fighting corps. It was a long held belief
that The Shattering had destroyed their kind, those who held that belief
were gravely mistaken.

The old necromancers, now estranged from their home had been in hiding. Using
their mastery of the shadows, they concealed their presence. For decades they
searched for the Temple of Shadows, the spiritual home and source of their
necromantic enlightenment. Their immense homesickness and lust for power drove
them to near extinction. After much despair and suffering, the Temple of
Shadows was found.

In returning home the stygian refugees found a cartel of elite brigands, the
Mortiferis, had taken up residence in the sacred temple that was once the seat
of power for their dark swarm. The Mortiferis relentlessly defended the hearth
and treasure hoard of the practitioners as their own. Enraged, the necromancers
and their warring forces rose from the shadows as Ombra, a clan sworn to the
evisceration of the usurper squatters. The Ombra take up their arms in a blood
vengeance to destroy the Mortiferis and seek reclamation of their sacred home
and the treasures held within.

disruptions to the peace on the Isle of Nethescuros. Due to the
secretive nature of the clan, little else is actually known about them.

It is rumoured that upon the fall of the old clans, a group of powerful
killers accidently stumbled across the abandoned ruins of the Nominis
Umbra. Buried inside the ruins was a vast fortune of treasure and armour
that had been left behind by the previous occupiers. The loot was too
vast to be moved. So, the band of killers formed the Mortiferis and
took the Temple of Shadows as their own.

== Manifesto ==

In ancient times, savage creatures of all different classes, races, and
sexes fought as individuals, with little regard for others. Soon, these
creatures of the world began to see the wisdom of forming groups for survival.

The first of these groups was the family. Husband, wife, and children all
worked together to benefit the family. This method of organization still
lacked sufficient power and opportunity. After a number of centuries, the
first of the great guilds appeared, offering members a chance to unite based
on their chosen class. These guilds proved sufficient in providing for the
social needs of their members. However, guild members were often forced to
look outside of their guild for needed resources... In trying to fill this
void, several individuals began grouping together, and began what is now
called the Order of Ringbearers.

The primary goal of the Ringbearers' is to grasp the rings of truth, honor,
and knowledge. This is done through exploring the Realms, teaching and
learning from others, and staying respectful to all others.

Equality in all forms is a central ideal of the Order of Ringbearers. No
one class or race shall receive preference over another. All segments
must unite in a circle, or a ring of brotherhood, to deliver success.

In the Order of Ringbearers, all members shall have the right to voice
their opinions and vote on Order policy. No member shall be sanctioned
nor outcast for words they say while in the confines of the Order's
headquarters, or over Ordertalk, as long as they remain respectful and
honest to themselves and their fellow members.
