The Dragon Raid of Darkhaven refers to the events precipitating the removal of the old guilds (split by individual Class) and the introduction of the new guild system, featuring the Guild of Origin, Guild of Spirit and Guild of Nature.

The raid was an in-game storyline that had players participating in a series of quests commissioned by Duke Luther of New Darkhaven.

Quests
The first in the series of quests was to acquire vials of dragon blood from slain white dragons throughout the Realms, including Icingdeath, Gayalossen, and Phenn, among others. The vials were to be used to treat a plague that had broken out across the Realms and were to be turned in to Sonoria in Darkhaven. Each vial turned in rewarded participants with one point of Glory.

A second quest involved the hunting down of Dragon Ore -- a special item found in areas containing dragons. The ore was then to be turned in for smelting and eventually manufactured into weapons for the use of Duke Luther's guards in Darkhaven, to protect the city from a potential dragon attack. Each weapon turned in was rewarded with additional Glory.

Finally, on September 19, 2013, the dragons raided New Darkhaven. Under the command of Kilgharrath, a special quest Mobile, a host of small white dragons were spawned every few minutes at different locations in the city, especially in the vicinity of the existing guilds. Players were tasked with killing the dragons and occasionally confronting Kilgharrath himself.

The dragons destroyed the former guild headquarters, giving rise to the guild amalgamation that saw the introduction of the Guilds of Origin, Spirit and Nature.

Kilgharrath was not slain.
It is well known that the lives of some races far exceed the
span allotted to humans. The life span of dragons, elves and
vampires lasts centuries and with long life, lasting love and
friendships arise, but alas, so too can heartache and betrayal.

From the depths of these emotions, centuries' old grudges and
revenge plots can fester and what was once warm and inviting
can become cold and distant. Within an ice covered valley far
to the south lies a once-grand keep where the full gammut of
emotions played out over the course of centuries. Now frozen
seemingly forever, there is little hope to regain what was
lost so long ago.
Enslaved by the Demon Lord within a deep fissure in a fiery
mountain, Mulciber the weaponsmith is forced to work night
and day to forge weapons of fire for the demon hordes that
one day will surge forth through the rift to threaten these
Realms. The forge is necessarily far from the Demon Lord's
own domain and is guarded by mere mortal minions, but
interlopers who dare to trespass should be warned that one
false step within the fissure will lead to certain and
immediate death.

The weaponsmith may be in a position to demonstrate his
gratitude with a tangible reward for whomever succeeds in
setting him free from his fiery prison.
|notes =
* A pair of aggressive guards protect the entrance. They do not detect invis or hide.
* Once inside the volcano (after the guards), you need to have your hands free (weapons, and presumably shield/hold as well) or else you will fall into the magma rooms, which will kill you and destroy one item of yours at random.
* At the end is a blacksmith who can enchant fire damage onto a weapon, for a price (200m).

Mulciber wonders 'Greetings stranger, state if thee are friend or foe?'
Mulciber says 'Friend perhaps? For I heard sounds of battle, and the guards would not let a friend of mine pass alive.'

You say 'friend'
Mulciber says 'Then it is true! I am at last free to leave.'
Mulciber sighs loudly.
Mulciber says 'I've been imprisoned here so long I have almost forgotten what it is like to be out in the open air.'
You watch Mulciber gaze thoughtfully into space while rubbing his chin.

Mulciber says 'I tell you what, by way of showing my gratitude, I could try reforging one of your weapons.'
Mulciber says 'Thats why I was captured, to make weapons of fire for the demon hordes.'

Mulciber says 'Still, the process isn't very reliable, so I never managed to make quite as many weapons as the demon lord wanted.'
Mulciber says 'The weapons tend to get destroyed by the heat.'
Mulciber nods in the direction of the pile of misshapen lumps.

Mulciber says 'And one more thing... this is important... '
Mulciber says 'This process can work on magically enchanted weapons, however once processed in the crucible the weapon cannot be further enchanted.'

Mulciber wonders 'Well? Would you like me to reforge your weapon?'

On Saturday January 22nd 2011 underwent a major code port that brought in new changes for Clerics. In the following days the mud experienced major failures and was offline for several days. Here is a record of those changes.

Realms of Despair: Cleric Update Information
We are pleased to announce the following changes to the Cleric class:
In an effort to draw more followers to their particular pantheons, Clerics have been given special new spells and skills to further enhance their abilities, based upon the Deity they follow. The following additions have been made:

Arcana Eviae:
This group of Deities, including A’enari, Vl’aresch, Mak’kor, Bael, Sarane and Esthathius, have granted Clerics more prowess in battle, especially against the undead.
The spells and skills included within this grouping are: (Note some are align based)
* Defense against Devout
* Detect Undead
* Banish Undead
* Anoint Weapon
* Turn Undead
* LightShield
* Indurate
* BoneShatter
* Defense against Undead
* Divine Power
* Death Knell
* Conviction
* Spiritual Weapon
* Greater Sanctuary
* Hand of Righteousness or Hand of Extirpation.
An undead mob is defined in HELP UNDEAD. Note: Vampire classed players are also included as ‘undead’.

Amnis Umbra:
This group of Deities, including Bron’trel, LaChte, Shivvan, Adendra, Sh’Vath, Ghordohl and Keltas have granted their Clerics more ability to heal and support others.
The spells and skills included within this grouping are: (Note some are align based)
* Ameliorate
* Divine Agility
* Feast of Champions
* Expunge
* Mass Blessing
* Cascading Heal
* Rangecast
* Ethereal Elixir
* Compound Brew
* Complete Heal
* Ward of the Divine
* Greater Sanctuary
Note: LaChte and Shivvan have also granted their followers the Death Knell and Defense against Devout spells.

Vis Liberata:
This group of Deities, including Z’hyal, Gre’Vos, Kalerd, Tirebaen, Cawyn, Sil-Galith, and Masefi are based more in the elements and, as such, have granted their Clerics more power and control over the same.
The spells and skills included within this grouping are:
* Frost Shield
* Adjust Clime
* Endure Elements
* Hold Person
* Caustic Rain
* Providence
* Cloud Travel
* Divine Draft
* Searing Light
* Cold Fire
* Storm of Vengeance

In addition to the above Deity based spells, all Clerics will receive the following new spells and skills:
* Prayer
* Create Holy Water
* Create Fire
* Celestial Might
* Surestrike
* Ressurect
* Visage of the Deity

Lastly, the following changes have been made based on input from players:
* Aid: This spell will now work on players stunned by summoning.
* Remove Curse: Fixed to remove a curse from a player (but not an object)
* Remove Hex: Fixed to remove a hex from an object carried by a player.
* Necromantic Touch: Base damage and healing have been adjusted.
* Fatigue: Removed
* Exorcism: Will now only use the holy water created by the Cleric’s ‘create holy water’ spell.
* Restoration: Amount of HP’s healed increased. Additionally, this spell was adjusted to no longer stop working when the caster utilized melee damage.
* Solar Flight: This spell has been adjusted to work in daylight hours (full sun not needed but is helpful towards success).
* Scribe: Adept percent raised to 70.
* Spiritual Wrath: This spell was adjusted to no longer stop working when the caster utilized melee damage.

It should be noted that Control Weather (and the Vis Liberata spell ‘Adjust Clime’) now work nearly instantly to adjust the weather in an area for a short duration.
Please see the individual help files for information about the preceding skills and spells. Please also see HELP Undead, HELP Wards and Auras, HELP Deity, HELP Clerics.
While there had been discussion of the Cleric upgrade for nearly a decade, the results had not been what we wanted, so we decided to start from scratch in August. My thanks to our group of Mortal Testers who ended up making a lot of excellent change suggestions, including the additions of a number of skills, to The Symposium for their work in brainstorming many of the ideas, to the CoE and other Immortals for excellent discussion and debate while we paired down our choices, to Conran and Altrag for helping provide some of the background and skill/spell code, and to Romani for adding the multitude of help files. Special thanks to Belkira for his work on this project in creating many spells and skills, and background code (see HELP Wards and Auras).

This has been a very major project, with around 55 new or adjusted skills for Clerics to access. While our testers have done an excellent job, there is more than likely something that may not work quite right. Please expect adjustments in the coming days as we find and resolve these issues. As always, should you find an exploit, please tell an Immortal immediately or mudmail Kinux if no immortal is on.
Have fun!

{{Area
|cname = Lamech's Abandoned Manor
|description = Area description
It is unclear how they perished. Whether the whole clan was
killed off, or whether they fell under a curse that drove them
into hiding. It matters little, except to those who relish in
the observances of the past. Recent expansions through the
Southern Mountain Ranges have uncovered the old, abandoned
manor house that once served the Lamech's and their clan.

Historians have argued about the veracity of rumours that the
manor housed a voracious clan of Vampires, under the leadership
of Vlaad Lamech. Others talk of the fear generated by the
inquisitions that would target those who didn't aspire to the
Lamech Family's values. Whether these stories are fact or
conjecture is unknown.

Travellers have gone to avoiding the Manor altogether,
especially at night when strange lights appear and movement
can be seen through the grime covered windows. For those
hearty enough to venture forth, great treasures and adventure
await.
Bael is one of Vl'aresch's strongest companions. Born from the blood of Vl'aresch's deadliest battle with A'enari, he is a shadowy figure which roams the earth, reveling in the evil about him. His love for blood and death is legendary. Mortals who see him bring back varied stories, ranging from a tall figure with eyes the color of the blood he so loves who spends his time tormenting those around him to a burning flame which ravages the land he passes over. Bael is brought forth only by the strongest and most evil of souls, for they are the only ones who can survive his presence.

Bael only accepts those of evil heart, through and through, others will never gain his affection. All manners of death are acceptable to him: magical, thieving and purely physical. He favors those that desecrate the resting places of others, as well as those that sacrifice in his name. Bael reveres above all else the killing of gods as he feels he should be the only one. Only those of the Drow, Gith, or Lizardman races who are Vampires, Nephandi or Warriors are accepted by this dark god.
At first the beast is pacifist. First you need to get the Long leather reins from a lower part of the tree. (Zmud: #2 d;ne;break branch;get reins;sw;#2 u )

Find the beast and mount it. You can then attach reins beast, but only if you are not at the center of the canopy. This transes you to the skies region. The beast will fly in the direction opposite that you pull the reins in. Steer the beast close to the rocks to damage its wing, then through the opening. (Zmud: (with beast not at center) mount beast;attach reins beast;pull reins northwest;pull reins northeast;pull reins east;pull reins northwest;pull reins up ) If you have done this correctly, you should now be able to attack the beast, who now stays at the center.

Choke-flee it, using wimpy max, watch out for 500 hp rounds. Other than a gas cloud attack that hits for -4 CON all the attacks are physical so you can skip an Ice Girth and use another belt to up DR and HP. However, you can be hit by multiple instances of the gas, so your CON might go down by 8 or even 12.

You cannot move down in any room the Winged beast is in, to go down, move to another room and go down.

When it dies, it pops an enormous bloody wing:
Your chokehold hits an enormous winged beast!
An enormous winged beast chokes to death under the weight of your overpowering strength.
An enormous winged beast is DEAD!!
You lose your death-grip on your victim's neck.
As the beast collapses against the trunk of the tree, a massive wing tears from his body and lands safely
between two thick branches.
The ground quakes as a ferocious roar resounds throughout the area.
An enormous winged beast screams furiously as he falls to the ground in a heap!
You see nothing like that in the corpse of an enormous winged beast.
The corpse of an enormous winged beast holds:
an enormous bloody wing

Attach the wing to the west statue at the beginning, this opens up a west exit. The room has a chest which holds a roll of feathery beige fabric. It is tunneled 1 and will close once you leave so don't leave without first taking the fabric.
Paladins are Warrior-trained priests who draw their power from acts of righteousness and strict adherence to the Code of The Temple of Solomon. Their strength in battle, combined with the ability to perform limited miracles is offset by the difficulty they experience in perfecting their craft and the penalties they suffer when they stray from the path of righteousness.
Let your sharp arrows pierce the hearts of the king's enemies; let the nations fall beneath your feet... You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy... Paladins are the soldiers of the Divine. Their faith is the equal of a Cleric, yet their training is more dependent on physical skill, hence an accelerated strength. This training coupled with blessings from the Divine makes them a powerful force in His name. A Paladin cherishes wisdom as well as his strength. Single-minded devotion to the Divine, while justified in the estimation of the Paladin, leaves little mind for independent thought. Intelligence is not a prize highly sought by the Paladins.
Paladins are Warrior-trained priests who draw their power from acts of
righteousness and strict adherence to the Code of The Temple of Solomon.
Their strength in battle, combined with the ability to perform limited
miracles is offset by the difficulty they experience in perfecting their
craft and the penalties they suffer when they stray from the path of
righteousness.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Paladins are the soldiers of the Divine. Their faith is the equal of a
Cleric, yet their training is more dependent on physical skill, hence an
accelerated strength. This training coupled with blessings from the Divine
makes them a powerful force in His name. A Paladin cherishes wisdom as
well as his strength. Single-minded devotion to the Divine, while
justified in the estimation of the Paladin, leaves little mind for
independent thought. Intelligence is not a prize highly sought by the
Paladins.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
The rigid strictures of the Paladin allow only Humans, Elves, and Half-
Elves.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

First you need to have a Ranger. Attack it until the ranger is swallowed, then find and kill the heart of a giant serpent. You should try to leave the heart on almost dead and then wait for repop, so that you can kill the heart just after repop, and have the whole repop to kill the head. You must kill it before the heart repops, or the heart will instantly heal it back to full as long as you're in its room.

Once the heart is dead, choke-flee the head, using wimpy max, watch out for 500 hp rounds.

It casts sanctuary on itself early in the fight. Melee hits it well. It uses acid quite a lot, and occasionally does acid breath. Make sure you have acidward/ice girth. It switches tanks if you're killing it with a friend.

If you are intending to solo the heart/head, keep in mind that

When it dies, it pops a hefty fang:

You wound The diamond-shaped head of a giant serpent!
The diamond-shaped head of a giant serpent is DEAD!!
As the head of the serpent crashes to the stone floor, one of its fangs cracks and splits from its root.
The ground quakes as a piercing screech resounds throughout the area.
The diamond-shaped head of a giant serpent splatters blood on your armor.
You see nothing like that in the corpse of The diamond-shaped head of a giant serpent.
The corpse of an enormous winged beast holds:
a hefty fang

Recall from its room. Attach the fang to the northwest statue at the beginning, this opens up a northwest exit. The room has a chest which holds a small hide of brown scales. It is tunneled 1 and will close once you leave so don't leave without first taking the hide.
After you've been swallowed by The diamond-shaped head of a giant serpent, you will be transported inside the serpent. Wield a rusty machete, slice sinews, northeast. The heart is north; you can log off here.

It is the easiest kill ever, easier than Kylara. The tricky part lies with trying to leave it alive for next repop.

After getting to nasty wounds, it spurts out blood that lags you for 1 round ~50% of each round.
After getting to covered with blood, it spurts out blood that lags you for 1 round ~75% of each round.
After getting to leaking guts, it spurts out blood that lags you for 2 round ~75% of each round.

Hence, your best bet is to style down to evasive after covered with blood, and possibly remove one or both of your weapons. This allows you enough time to flee before it gets to DYING.

Other than that, it doesn't hit back at all, so you don't even need sanctuary for it, really. However, the room is immune magic, so flee out if you want to cast something.

After it dies, you get transed back out to the room before the head.
